Abstract

Background and objectives: Teacher training universities, as one of the basic pillars of the educational system, play a decisive role in strengthening lifelong learning infrastructure. Due to the rapid social and technological developments, it is necessary to review and research the role of these universities in the future of the country's education. The aim of the current research is to analyze the capacities, challenges and opportunities of teacher training universities in strengthening lifelong learning. Methods: This research was done in a descriptive-analytical way with a document review approach. The review community includes educational policies, upstream documents and recent scientific studies. The data collection tool was document analysis and the method of data analysis was conceptual coding and thematic composition. Findings: The results show that teacher training universities can become the focus of lifelong learning in the future by developing family empowerment programs, expanding educational justice, promoting digital literacy and training research teachers. Also technological and social trends, the necessity of re-creationIt strengthens the mission of these universities. Conclusion:
