Background and Objectives: The purpose of this research is to explain the position of physical education and sports from the perspective of Islam. From the point of view of Islam, man has two aspects, spiritual (soul) and material (body). Care and planning are needed to strengthen the physical aspect of human beings, and one of the best programs is physical training activities. Methods: This research is of the library type where research data is collected from Islamic sources. Findings: 8.5% of the Qur'an's enlightening verses refer to the subject of the body and physical training, and there are many hadiths from the Prophet (PBUH) and the infallible imams (PBUH) on the importance of sports and competition. Regarding the physical characteristics of the Prophet (PBUH) and Imams (PBUH), it is said that they were strong in terms of physical structure and sometimes participated in sports competitions. Conclusion: The position of sports in Islam is very progressive and valuable, which is a good capacity for developing and expanding sports in Islamic countries.
