Pathology of the internship curriculum at Farhangian University and providing a solution (Case study of faculty members at Farhangian University of South Khorasan)

Abstract

The aim of the present study was to diagnose the internship curriculum from the perspective of faculty members. Therefore, the opinions of the professors were examined in a qualitative and phenomenological manner. The participants in the study were all faculty members of Farhangian University of South Khorasan. Considering the nature of the study, a purposive sampling method of the criterion type was used, and the data obtained was saturated by semi-structured interviews with 7 professors of Farhangian University. To analyze the collected data, the Claise seven-step analysis method was used. To evaluate the results of the present qualitative study, the Goya and Lincoln criteria were used. The findings were presented in the form of 5 themes of educational, training, administrative-management challenges, human resource limitations, and facilities, solutions, and suggestions. The findings of the study show that the design of the internship program is scientific and perfect, but its implementation and practice have not been correct. Therefore, the internship program is far from reaching its desired status due to some problems and challenges, and Farhangian University planners must take fundamental steps to address these challenges
